Flying Squirrels Unveil CarMax Park in $2.4B Plan

The Richmond Flying Squirrels, in partnership with CarMax, have announced the construction of a new baseball stadium named CarMax Park, with a groundbreaking ceremony scheduled for September 6, 2024. This stadium, set to open in 2026, replaces The Diamond and is part of a $2.4 billion redevelopment in Richmond's Diamond District. CarMax, the largest used car retailer in the U.S., secured multi-year naming rights, emphasizing its long-term commitment to the community. CarMax Park will feature extensive facilities including a 360-degree concourse, beer garden, and luxury suites, and will host a variety of large-scale events year-round, such as concerts and festivals.
