Odisha Faces Rising Temperatures, Dense Fog Alerts Issued

Odisha is experiencing an unusual rise in night temperatures, which have increased by 2 to 4 degrees Celsius, attributed to moisture-laden air from western disturbances. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow warning for dense fog across several districts including Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, Bhadrak, Balasore, Khurda, and Cuttack, advising residents to exercise caution while traveling. Visibility has been severely reduced to as low as 10-50 meters, disrupting normal life and vehicular traffic in affected areas. In Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, temperatures recorded were 14.4°C and 14.8°C respectively, with maximum temperatures also rising significantly, peaking at 34.2°C in some locations. The IMD forecasts that the warmer weather will continue, with temperatures expected to increase further in the coming days. Residents are advised to stay alert and prepared for changing weather conditions as the fog persists alongside warmer temperatures.
