Apple is set to launch its AI assistant, Apple Intelligence, initially in U.S. English with the release of iOS 18.1 in October 2024. Following this, the assistant will expand to support several additional languages, including German, Italian, Korean, Portuguese, and Vietnamese, aimed at enhancing its global accessibility. Localized English support for regions like the U.K., Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa will also be available by December. However, Apple Intelligence will not be accessible on iPhones or iPads in the EU due to the Digital Markets Act, while availability in China is restricted by local regulations. The rollout reflects Apple's strategy to compete with other voice assistants like Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa, which already offer extensive multilingual capabilities.
