Florida Family Shelters Donkey During Hurricane Milton

Rick Bass and Sara Weldon, a couple from Clermont, Florida, chose to ride out Hurricane Milton with their baby donkey, Cash, and other animals inside their home, despite being in the storm's direct path. In emotional TikTok videos shared on their account, which has nearly 400,000 followers, Sara expressed her distress about the situation, stating, 'All these animals are our children' and pleading not to be asked to evacuate. Concerned about their barn collapsing under 120 mph winds, they brought Cash into their bedroom for safety. Throughout the night, they provided updates to followers, showing Cash resting calmly on the floor alongside their dogs amidst the chaos outside. The hurricane made landfall on Wednesday night, initially as a Category 3 storm, but was downgraded to Category 1 by early Thursday morning. While over 3 million people lost power due to the storm, it remains unclear how badly their farm was affected.
