Girl Dies After Assault in New Ross

An eight-year-old girl died after a fatal assault at a residence in New Ross, Co Wexford, on Sunday night. Emergency services responded to the scene around 11:45 PM and transported her to University Hospital Waterford, where she succumbed to her injuries in the early hours of the following morning. Two adults, a man and a woman in their 30s, are receiving treatment for non-life-threatening injuries at University Hospital Wexford. The Gardaí have launched an investigation, with a Senior Investigating Officer appointed, and they are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
