CBP Seizes Over $5 Million in Drugs, Cash at Texas Borders
U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at the Eagle Pass International Bridge in Texas recently intercepted two major drug smuggling attempts, seizing over $3.3 million worth of methamphetamine hidden in a vehicle floorboard and, in a separate incident, $1.7 million in mixed narcotics including cocaine, methamphetamine, and heroin concealed in another car. Both cases involved female drivers and utilized advanced inspection technology and trained canine teams to uncover the contraband. The narcotics and vehicles were seized, and the drivers were taken into custody with criminal investigations launched by Homeland Security Investigations. CBP officials highlighted these operations as examples of effective targeting strategies and their ongoing commitment to preventing dangerous drugs from entering U.S. communities.
