Subaru Unveils Evolved 2026 Crosstrek Hybrid

Subaru has announced the 2026 Crosstrek Hybrid, marking a significant evolution from its previous plug-in hybrid models. The new hybrid powertrain integrates a 2.5-liter Atkinson/Miller-cycle boxer engine with electric motor generators, boosting the power to 194 horsepower, a notable increase from the previous 148 hp PHEV system. Unlike its predecessors, the 2026 model abandons the plug-in feature, promising better efficiency and maintaining Subaru's renowned symmetrical all-wheel-drive system. The hybrid comes with advanced features such as the latest EyeSight Driver Assist Technology and a modern infotainment system, including a 12.3-inch digital driver's screen. Subaru is banking on the combination of increased power and improved fuel economy to attract buyers, though exact MPG figures have yet to be disclosed.
