Three Lynx Rescued from Cairngorms Thrive at Edinburgh Zoo

Three female lynx, illegally released in the Cairngorms, have successfully completed their 30-day quarantine at Edinburgh Zoo and are reported to be thriving. The Royal Zoological Society of Scotland (RZSS) captured the lynx in early January after they were spotted near Kingussie, but a fourth male lynx unfortunately died shortly after capture. RZSS chief executive David Field emphasized the irresponsibility of the illegal release, stating the lynx would likely have perished if not rescued. The surviving lynx have been temporarily named 'A', 'B', and 'C' and are showing confidence as they adjust to their environment. RZSS is now seeking a permanent home for the animals and has launched a fundraising appeal to support their care. The organization has received significant public support following the announcement.
