Former NFL Star Tommy Hart Dies at 80

Tommy Hart, a former NFL defensive end and three-time Super Bowl champion, has passed away at the age of 80. Drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in the 10th round of the 1968 NFL Draft, Hart played 10 seasons with the team, contributing significantly to their 'Gold Rush' defensive line and earning second-team All-Pro honors in 1976. Throughout his 13-year career, he recorded 83 sacks and participated in 17 postseason games. Following retirement, Hart served as an assistant defensive line coach and scout for the 49ers, helping secure three Super Bowl titles. The 49ers expressed their condolences on social media, mourning the loss of a key figure in their history. Hart was also recognized in the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame for his achievements in college and professional football.
