J. Alexander Kueng released from federal prison Ohio
J. Alexander Kueng, a former Minneapolis police officer convicted in the death of George Floyd, was released from prison after serving 3.5 years. Kueng was sentenced for aiding and abetting manslaughter and also served a concurrent federal sentence for violating Floyd's civil rights. Upon his release from FCI Elkton in Ohio, Kueng expressed gratitude for the support he received during his incarceration. He will be on probation until March 2026, while two other officers remain imprisoned and Derek Chauvin serves a longer sentence. A fundraiser has been established by Kueng's mother to help him transition back to civilian life. Kueng's actions during the incident, which sparked global protests against racial injustice, involved kneeling on Floyd's back as Chauvin restrained him.
