Jose Miranda Placed on Injured List by Twins

The Minnesota Twins have placed infielder Jose Miranda on the 10-day injured list due to a low back strain, effectively ending his season with two games remaining. Miranda enjoyed a successful year, batting .284 with nine home runs and 49 RBIs across 121 games. In response to the injury, the Twins recalled Diego Castillo and Michael Helman while optioning Kody Funderburk. Castillo has a solid 2.25 ERA this season, while Helman has shown promise in limited appearances. Funderburk, who struggled in his recent outing, had a 6.49 ERA over 27 games. The Twins are scheduled to play their final two games against the Baltimore Orioles this weekend.
