Pineville Police Officer Christopher Jackson was arrested for driving while impaired (DWI) after being found asleep at the wheel early Thursday morning in south Charlotte. Police discovered Jackson's vehicle stopped with its engine running around 3:30 a.m., prompting a field sobriety test that led to his arrest on DWI charges, as well as felony and misdemeanor charges for carrying a concealed weapon. In response, the Pineville Police Department has placed Jackson on administrative leave without pay and has stated that they will uphold transparency during the internal investigation. Jackson is scheduled to appear in court on October 10 to face the charges. The department emphasized the importance of maintaining public trust and the high standards expected of their officers.
