Hannah Hidalgo Wins ACC Player, Defensive Player Honors
Notre Dame sophomore guard Hannah Hidalgo has made history by being named both the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year, becoming the third player in ACC history to achieve both honors in the same season. Hidalgo leads her team with an impressive average of 24.2 points per game, ranking her third nationally, and is also recognized for her defensive skills with 3.7 steals per game, which is fourth in the nation. This accolade marks her second consecutive Defensive Player of the Year title, highlighting her significant impact on the court. Alongside Hidalgo, two other Notre Dame players, Olivia Miles and Sonia Citron, were named to the All-ACC First Team, with Miles averaging 16.5 points and leading the conference in assists. The Fighting Irish, who finished the regular season with a 25-4 record, are set to begin their ACC Tournament play this Friday.
