Spartans Secure Multiple Finalists for Big Ten Hockey Awards

Michigan State sophomore goaltender Trey Augustine has been named one of five finalists for the prestigious AAU Sullivan Award, recognizing him as one of the best amateur athletes in collegiate sports. Augustine's outstanding season includes holding the best record among conference goalies, a goals-against average of 2.09, and being a key player in Team USA's back-to-back IIHF Junior Hockey Championships victories. Additionally, he is a finalist for the Mike Richter Award and has been highlighted as one of the top performers in college hockey this season. Meanwhile, Michigan State's men's basketball team secured a 74-64 victory against Oregon in the Big Ten Tournament, advancing to the semifinals. The Spartans, currently ranked seventh nationally, will face the winner of the Wisconsin-UCLA match next. Michigan State's hockey team also features several finalists for Big Ten awards, including Augustine and forward Daniel Howard, who leads the conference in points.
