Conor McGregor files appeal after civil sexual assault verdict in Ireland

Conor McGregor has officially filed an appeal against a jury's verdict that found him liable for sexual assault in a civil case involving Nikita Hand, which concluded last November. The jury determined McGregor assaulted Hand in a Dublin hotel in December 2018, awarding her approximately €248,000 in damages and legal fees. Following the verdict, McGregor's public image suffered significantly, with several companies severing ties, including his whiskey brand Proper No. 12. McGregor has consistently maintained his innocence, asserting that any interactions were consensual and criticizing the trial process. Additionally, he is facing another civil lawsuit for sexual battery stemming from an incident during the 2023 NBA Finals. The next court hearing regarding his appeal is scheduled for March 6.
