Welspun Tubular Plans $150M Expansion, 300 Jobs Little Rock

Welspun Tubular is investing $150 million to expand its manufacturing facility in Little Rock by adding a new Longitudinally Submerged Arc Welded (LSAW) line pipe mill and coating facility. This expansion is expected to create approximately 300 new jobs and will make Welspun the only U.S. facility capable of producing line pipes ranging from 6 to 56 inches, meeting specifications for oil and gas and infrastructure sectors. The company, which has operated in Little Rock since 2007, aims to strengthen domestic manufacturing and reduce reliance on imports, supporting U.S. energy infrastructure needs including carbon capture, LNG export, and hydrogen pipelines. Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders and local officials praised the project, highlighting its significance for the region’s economic growth and Arkansas’s business environment. Welspun’s CEO Vipul Mathur described the new facility as a unique, comprehensive pipeline solution under one roof, reinforcing their commitment to serving diverse energy demands. The expansion reflects broader efforts to boost American industrial capacity and energy independence.
