Florida Launches New Human Trafficking Initiatives

Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody announced new initiatives to combat human trafficking as part of Human Trafficking Prevention Month. The state will install new signage at all 53 rest stops, urging travelers to report suspicious activity to the human trafficking hotline, which has been rebranded to 1 (855) FLA-SAFE. Additionally, a partnership with the Florida Association of Crime Stoppers will offer a reward of $7,500 for tips leading to the rescue of trafficking victims, with calls remaining anonymous. Moody emphasized that any piece of information could be crucial in saving a life, especially if someone appears to be under someone else's control. The initiatives aim to increase awareness among the public about the signs of human trafficking, such as individuals who look malnourished or fearful. These efforts reflect a broader commitment to addressing and reducing human trafficking in Florida.
