In Bihar's Nawada district, a violent incident linked to a land dispute resulted in the arson of around 21 to 80 homes, primarily belonging to Dalit families in the Krishna Nagar and Manjhi Tola areas. Initial reports indicate that shots were fired in the air before the houses were set ablaze by a group led by Nandu Paswan, who has since been arrested along with 14 others. No casualties were reported, but the displaced residents are being provided with temporary shelter and relief materials. Authorities, including Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, have condemned the act and called for swift action, deploying additional police to maintain order. A Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed to further probe the incident, and the situation is currently under control.
