The event, held at The Quays at Albert Basin, featured a parade, live music, and funfair stalls, celebrating community and diversity. Notably, both the chairperson and deputy chairperson of the Newry, Mourne and Down District Council are members of the LGBTQ+ community, marking a significant milestone for representation in Northern Ireland. Organizers emphasized the event's dual role as both a celebration and a protest, particularly in light of recent challenges faced by the LGBTQ+ community, such as the ban on puberty blockers. Event coordinator Jenny Deane noted the loss felt by the community during the hiatus and highlighted the importance of coming together to promote acceptance and equality.
