Michigan State Police Shoot Armed Suspect After Multi-County Pursuit
Michigan State Police troopers, assisting Wexford County deputies, attempted to stop a 27-year-old suspect involved in an earlier assault on July 10, 2025. The suspect fled the traffic stop, firing shots at officers while driving on M-115 through Wexford and Osceola counties. The pursuit ended when the suspect lost control and crashed near 20 Mile Road, after which he fled on foot. Troopers caught up to him, gave verbal commands to drop his weapon, but he allegedly pointed a firearm at them, prompting them to shoot the suspect. He was transported to a hospital and remains in critical condition; no officers were injured during the incident. The Michigan State Police Special Investigation Section is conducting an ongoing investigation into the shooting.
