Amazon Unveils Alexa+ Echo Lineup and Pricing
At its fall 2025 devices event, Amazon unveiled four new Echo products — the Echo Dot Max, an updated Echo Studio, and redesigned Echo Show 8 and Echo Show 11 — in the company’s first major Echo hardware refresh under Panos Panay. All four ship with Amazon’s new Alexa+ assistant out of the box (U.S. early access) and are built around the AZ3 and AZ3 Pro chips to enable more natural multi‑turn conversations and on‑device AI. Amazon says the AZ3 improves wake‑word and conversation detection while the AZ3 Pro adds support for larger language and vision models plus an OmniSense sensor suite for ambient edge AI. The Dot Max emphasizes bass and value (about $99, claiming 3x the bass of the 5th‑gen Dot) and the redesigned Echo Studio is smaller, uses three full‑range drivers with an excursion woofer and Dolby Atmos (around $220); Amazon also introduced Alexa Home Theater to link up to five Echo speakers. The Echo Show 8 and 11 were redesigned with improved mics, cameras and sensors to showcase Alexa+ contextual and agentic features like reservations and reminders. Devices are available for preorder with some shipping in October, though Amazon has not disclosed Alexa+ pricing details or long‑term availability terms.
