BBC, Channel 5 Pull Jay Blades' Shows

Jay Blades, the 54-year-old host of BBC's The Repair Shop, faces legal troubles on two counts: using his mobile phone while driving and engaging in controlling and coercive behavior towards his estranged wife, Lisa Zbozen. Blades appeared at Kidderminster Magistrates’ Court for the latter charge, which followed an investigation by West Mercia Police after Zbozen announced their separation on Instagram. As a consequence, Blades has resigned from his role with the King’s Foundation and as chancellor of Buckinghamshire New University. Both the BBC and Channel 5 have pulled shows featuring Blades from their schedules. He is scheduled to appear at Worcester Crown Court on October 11 for a plea and trial preparation hearing.
