YOASOBI Releases Animated Music Video for Witch Watch Anime
YOASOBI has released the animated music video for "Watch me!", the opening theme of the anime Witch Watch, which is currently airing on Crunchyroll and Japanese networks. The song, written by Ayase and inspired by a short story by manga creator Kenta Shinohara, highlights the playful and supernatural themes of the series, which follows high schooler Morihito Otogi, an ogre familiar, and his witch-in-training childhood friend Nico Wakatsuki. The music video, produced by Folium and directed by Yu Nakagaito, blends original animation with scenes from the anime, capturing its humor and fantasy elements. Witch Watch is animated by Bibury Animation Studios with Hiroshi Ikehata directing, and the story revolves around Morihito protecting Nico from impending danger while navigating their complex relationship. The release of "Watch me!" coincides with YOASOBI's rising popularity, having recently won a major music award and preparing for international performances. Fans and critics praise the music video for its dynamic animation style and effective integration with the energetic song, marking it as a standout anime opening for spring 2025.
