Lions Add Van Poortvliet, Address Injury Concerns
Leicester Tigers and England scrum-half Jack van Poortvliet has been called up by the British & Irish Lions as cover for their warm-up match against Argentina in Dublin, following a minor glute injury to Ireland's Jamison Gibson-Park. Van Poortvliet will join scrum-halves Alex Mitchell and Tomos Williams in the squad, while Gibson-Park is not expected to be sidelined long-term. Minor injuries to Leinster players Tadhg Furlong and Hugo Keenan have also prompted extra call-ups. The Lions have welcomed back 15 players from Bath, Leicester, and Leinster after the club finals, with Finn Russell joining as one of three fly-halves. The squad is preparing for their tour opener in Australia following Friday's match against Argentina. Only Scotland full-back Blair Kinghorn has yet to join the squad due to his club commitments with Toulouse.
