The club's new head coach, Julen Lopetegui, is seeking to bolster the squad with experienced players, particularly in central defense, where they currently have limited options. Alongside Egan, West Ham is also considering former Liverpool defender Joel Matip, although other targets like Mats Hummels have shifted to Roma.
