Two Men Charged in Beverly Hills Robbery

Two South American men, Jamer Mauricio Sepulveda Salazar from Colombia and Jesus Eduardo Padron Rojas from Venezuela, have been charged in connection with an armed robbery that occurred on August 7, 2024, at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel, where they stole a $1 million Patek Philippe watch from a family dining on the patio. The suspects allegedly approached the victim with a semi-automatic handgun, forcing him to relinquish the watch before fleeing in a blue Toyota Corolla. Following their arrest on August 10, law enforcement executed a search warrant at their Airbnb, uncovering a handgun linked to former LAPD officer Christopher Dorner, who was infamous for a series of murders in 2013. The duo is believed to be part of a 'crime tourism' group involved in high-value robberies across Southern California. The investigation revealed that both suspects may have committed a similar robbery just days before, involving a $30,000 Rolex. U.S. Attorney Martin Estrada emphasized the government's commitment to addressing violent crime perpetrated by organized crime groups.
