Saudi Arabia Assumes INTOSAI Chairmanship Leading Global Auditing Efforts

Saudi Arabia has been elected to chair the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI) starting in 2031 for a three-year term, announced at the 25th INTOSAI General Assembly held in Sharm El-Sheikh under the patronage of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. Represented by the General Court of Audit (GCA), Saudi Arabia will lead global efforts to enhance transparency, public sector governance, and government performance while reinforcing public trust in national economies. Dr. Hussam Alangari, President of the GCA, credited the Kingdom's organizational independence, technical capacity, and methodological innovations for this achievement and expressed gratitude to King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for their support. Saudi Arabia has a long-standing involvement with INTOSAI since 1977 and currently holds leadership roles in related regional organizations, including chairing the Arab Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (ARABOSAI) and the upcoming chairmanship of the Asian Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (ASOSAI). During the assembly, Saudi Arabia also served as Second Vice-Chair and contributed reports emphasizing the successful implementation of INTOSAI's strategic plan and collaboration with global donors to support Supreme Audit Institutions in developing countries. The Kingdom is preparing to host delegations from over 195 countries in Riyadh in 2031 to promote transparency and governance worldwide.
