California Man Arrested for Attempted Sex Trafficking

Murlin Swanston, a 48-year-old man from California, has been arrested for allegedly attempting to sex traffic two women in Denver, according to Denver District Attorney Beth McCann. Investigators claim Swanston has been contacting thousands of women online since 2021, including many commercial sex workers, to recruit them into his trafficking ring. The case was brought to light by a commercial sex worker who reported Swanston's harassment to the authorities. Prosecutors believe there may be additional victims and are encouraging anyone affected to reach out to the DA's Human Trafficking Unit. Swanston is currently in California awaiting extradition to Colorado, where formal charges will be filed. No extradition date has been set yet.
