ISIS Attack on Puntland Military Base Kills 100

In a coordinated assault, ISIS militants attacked military bases in Puntland, Somalia, using suicide vehicles and motorbikes, leading to significant casualties. Puntland military officials reported that at least 70 militants were killed, while 27 soldiers also lost their lives during the clashes. The successful defense was attributed to advanced intelligence and support from the UAE, which provided aerial strikes that helped repel the attack. Since December, Puntland has conducted a major offensive against both ISIS and al-Shabaab, resulting in the deaths of numerous militants and the capture of key territories. Despite these efforts, ISIS remains a growing threat, bolstered by foreign fighters, although it is still smaller than al-Shabaab.
