Lancashire Fire Crews Respond to Christmas Day Blazes
On Christmas Day, Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service responded to two house fires: one in Lytham St Annes at about 03:20 GMT and another in Blackburn at 14:30 GMT. The first fire on Kenilworth Road involved four fire engines and required the use of ladder platforms and multiple hose reels, with the cause currently under investigation. The second incident on Pilmuir Road saw two fire engines respond, employing breathing apparatus and positive pressure ventilation, with crews on-site for three and a half hours. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries in either incident. Meanwhile, in Greenwood, South Carolina, firefighters rescued a man and a dog from a house fire that erupted at 4:41 a.m., causing significant damage but no injuries; the cause is also under investigation.
