Delta Compensates Passengers After Toronto Crash

Delta Airlines is offering $30,000 in compensation to each passenger of Flight 4819, which crash-landed and overturned at Toronto Pearson International Airport. This payment is described as having 'no strings attached,' allowing passengers to retain their rights to pursue further legal claims if desired. The incident involved 76 passengers and four crew members, resulting in injuries to 21 people, all of whom have since been released from the hospital. The crash occurred under seemingly clear conditions, although previous storms had affected the airport, and snow and high winds were present during the incident. Delta CEO Ed Bastian praised the crew's actions during the emergency, affirming the company's commitment to supporting affected passengers. The Transportation Safety Board of Canada is investigating the crash, with assistance from U.S. agencies.
