Benj Pasek and Justin Paul achieved EGOT status at the 2024 Creative Arts Emmy Awards by winning the Emmy for Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics for their song "Which of the Pickwick Triplets Did It?" from the series Only Murders in the Building. This win makes them the 20th and 21st individuals to earn this prestigious distinction, joining an elite group that includes Richard Rodgers and Audrey Hepburn. Pasek and Paul previously won an Oscar for "City of Stars" from La La Land, a Tony for Dear Evan Hansen, and a Grammy for the musical's cast album. Their EGOT journey took less than seven years, setting a record for the fastest completion of the feat. Additionally, they are the second duo to achieve EGOT status together, following Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice. Pasek is also the fourth publicly LGBTQ individual to join the EGOT club.
