Truck Accident Sends Vehicle into Merrimack River
On Tuesday afternoon, Danielle Melanson, 30, from Merrimack, was involved in a vehicular accident on the Circumferential Highway in Nashua, New Hampshire, causing her pickup truck to end up in the Merrimack River. The incident occurred shortly before 3 p.m. when Melanson's 2014 GMC Sierra collided with another vehicle while changing lanes, subsequently hitting a guardrail and rolling down an embankment into the river. Melanson managed to escape the partially submerged vehicle and was taken to Southern New Hampshire Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. The accident led to the closure of multiple lanes on the Sagamore Bridge while the vehicle was removed. The crash is still under investigation, with authorities seeking further information from the public. Agencies including the Nashua Fire Department, New Hampshire Department of Transportation, and local tow services assisted in the response.
