Two Florida residents, Derinda Main and Krista Hyde, have each claimed $1 million prizes from the $5,000,000 CROSSWORD CASH Scratch-Off game. Main, a 67-year-old from Brandon, purchased her winning ticket at a Seffner store and opted for a lump-sum payment of $652,665.60, while Hyde, a 37-year-old from Clearwater, made her purchase at a Circle K and also chose the same lump-sum payout. Both retailers received a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the winning tickets. The game offers four top prizes of $5 million and has an overall winning odds of 1-in-2.90. Scratch-off games account for about 74% of Florida Lottery ticket sales and have contributed significantly to educational funding in the state, generating over $19.5 billion for the Educational Enhancement Trust Fund. Since their launch, these games have awarded more than $64.3 billion in prizes, creating over 2,230 millionaires in Florida.
