Delta Pilot Arrested for Child Sex Abuse Charges

Rustom Bhagwagar, 34, a Delta Air Lines co-pilot, was arrested by federal agents and Contra Costa County sheriff’s deputies in the cockpit at San Francisco International Airport after arriving from Minneapolis on July 26. He faces five counts of oral copulation with a child under 10 years old and is being held on $5 million bail. The investigation began in April following a report of sex crimes against a child. Homeland Security agents conducted the arrest in full view of passengers, causing shock and concern. Delta has suspended Bhagwagar and is cooperating with law enforcement. Authorities are seeking additional information from the public as the investigation continues.
