Rangers midfielder Connor Barron has received his first call-up to the Scotland national squad for the Nations League matches against Poland and Portugal, following the withdrawal of several players due to fitness issues. Barron, who joined Rangers from Aberdeen, has impressed in his first seven games of the season and is joined by uncapped players Jon McCracken, a goalkeeper from Dundee, and Sassuolo's Josh Doig. The squad now has potential for six uncapped players to make their debut. McCracken replaces Kilmarnock's Robby McCrorie, who is sidelined with a hip injury. Scotland is set to play Poland at Hampden and then travel to Portugal, marking their first matches since being eliminated from Euro 2024. The match against Poland is scheduled for Thursday night.
