Silver Spring Man Arrested For 2022 Apartment Homicide

Montgomery County police and U.S. Marshals have arrested Jason Duane Moore, 47, in connection with the December 2022 fatal shooting of Nathaniel Potts in Silver Spring. Moore faces charges including first-degree murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and assault. The shooting occurred in the parking lot of the Summit Hills apartment complex, where Potts was found with gunshot wounds and later died at the hospital. The investigation identified Moore as a suspect after reviewing eyewitness accounts of a verbal argument between Moore and Potts before the shooting. Moore was taken into custody without incident and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing in October. Authorities continue to seek additional information from the public to aid the ongoing investigation.
