Microsoft Unveils Windows 365 Link Cloud Device

Microsoft has introduced the Windows 365 Link, a $349 mini PC designed to operate primarily as a cloud-based device, connecting users to Microsoft's Windows 365 service. This fanless and compact device, previewed at Microsoft's Ignite conference, offers businesses a cost-effective and secure solution for cloud computing by eliminating local storage and processing most operations in the cloud. It supports dual 4K monitors, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, multiple USB ports, and allows for passwordless logins via Microsoft Entra ID. The device is targeted at businesses seeking to streamline remote work and reduce physical data security risks, as it requires a Windows 365 subscription for full functionality. Though it doesn't run a full Windows OS locally, it aims to provide a seamless connection to cloud services, making it suitable for environments like call centers and hot-desking. The Windows 365 Link will be available in select markets starting April 2025.
