Anne Arundel Corporal Charged with Child Sex Abuse

Corporal Anthony Nickoles, a 42-year-old Anne Arundel County Sheriff's deputy, has been arrested and charged with multiple counts, including sexual abuse of a minor and assault, related to incidents from 2016. The charges were initiated following an investigation by the Anne Arundel County Police Department's Child and Vulnerable Abuse Unit, which was notified of the allegations on March 3. The charges include sexual offenses in the third and fourth degrees and second-degree assault. Officials confirmed that the alleged abuses were not connected to Nickoles' duties as a law enforcement officer.
