The National Wax Museum in Dublin has decided to pull a recently unveiled wax figure of the late Sinéad O’Connor following widespread criticism from fans and her family. The figure, intended to commemorate the first anniversary of O’Connor’s death, was criticized for its poor likeness, with her brother John O’Connor and numerous fans describing it as 'hideous' and comparing it to a mannequin or a character from Thunderbirds. Museum director Paddy Dunning, a long-time friend of O’Connor, acknowledged that the statue did not meet the museum's standards or the expectations of her fans and announced plans for a new project to create a more accurate representation. The waxwork was initially displayed next to Star Wars characters, which also drew public confusion and criticism. The museum apologized for any distress caused and committed to producing a tribute that truly honors O’Connor’s legacy.
