A meteor was spotted over parts of North Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia, with numerous videos capturing its bright flash and trail across the night sky. Witnesses in Watauga County reported a loud boom accompanying the sighting, leading some to mistake it for nearby construction. The American Meteor Society has not yet confirmed the event, but similar sightings have occurred recently in North Carolina. A separate video from Greene County, Tennessee, also documented the meteor's descent, suggesting it likely disintegrated before reaching the ground. Despite the excitement, experts note that meteors can travel at speeds of up to 44 miles per second and can vary in color based on their composition.
