PENN Entertainment Opens $185M Hollywood Casino Joliet

PENN Entertainment officially opened the new $185 million Hollywood Casino Joliet, a land-based facility replacing the former riverboat casino after 30 years. The casino, located on Gateway Boulevard near Interstates 80 and 55, features approximately 1,000 slot machines, 43 live table games, an ESPN BET sportsbook, and upscale dining options including restaurants by celebrity chefs such as Stephanie Izard and Giada De Laurentiis. The grand opening ceremony included city officials, Illinois Gaming Board members, NFL legend Tom Thayer, and other dignitaries, with the casino opening to the public at 4 p.m. The facility employs around 600 team members and aims to offer continuous entertainment year-round, leveraging the PENN Play Rewards Program to enhance customer loyalty.
