Indian Railways Adds Festival Special Trains

In anticipation of the Durga Puja festivities, Kolkata Metro has extended its service hours, with 248 trains running until 4 am from October 10 to October 12 and increased services on October 9 and October 12. Additionally, Indian Railways is introducing nearly 6,000 special trains across high-demand routes in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal. The South East Central Railway (SECR) will operate six special trains from October 1 to November 30, contributing to the 519 special trains planned nationwide. This initiative aims to accommodate the increased travel demand during major festivals including Durga Puja, Diwali, and Chhath Puja.
