Patti Smith Releases Expanded 50th Anniversary Edition of Horses with Unreleased Tracks

Patti Smith is commemorating the 50th anniversary of her groundbreaking 1975 debut album, Horses, with a remastered reissue featuring the original tracks plus previously unreleased demos, outtakes, and rarities, including the newly released song "Snowball." The expanded edition, available on October 10th in 2-LP and 2-CD formats via Legacy Recordings, includes Smith's 1975 RCA audition tape and alternate takes of several songs. To celebrate the milestone, Smith will embark on a fall tour across Europe, the UK, and the US, performing Horses in its entirety at each show, including two dates at the London Palladium. Alongside the reissue and tour, Smith will release a new memoir, Bread of Angels, on November 4th, offering an intimate look at her life and career. Despite its modest commercial reception upon release, Horses has grown to be recognized as a seminal album in punk rock and poetry-driven music, with Smith's collaboration with guitarist Lenny Kaye playing a key role in its enduring legacy.
