Astros Sign Naming Rights Deal with Daikin

The Houston Astros have announced a 15-year naming rights agreement with Daikin Comfort Technologies, effective January 1, 2025, which will rename Minute Maid Park to Daikin Park. This partnership not only formalizes the naming rights but also emphasizes community initiatives, including educational programs and youth sports development in underserved areas. Daikin, a leading air conditioning manufacturer based in Japan with significant operations in Greater Houston, will take over from Minute Maid, which has held the naming rights since 2002 after the Enron scandal. Financial terms of the deal remain undisclosed, but estimates suggest it could range from $3 million to $10 million annually. Owner Jim Crane expressed excitement about the partnership, highlighting shared values and the upcoming 25th anniversary of the ballpark in 2025. The first regular season game at Daikin Park will take place on March 27, 2025, against the New York Mets.
