Autopsy ordered after remains found in Hummer at Murfreesboro tow yard

Murfreesboro police are investigating the discovery of human remains found on May 1 inside a locked 2007 Hummer HU3 at E.A. Towing, after the vehicle was towed from a Walmart parking lot on April 5 for being abandoned. The body, found on a sleeping mat in the back of the SUV with windows covered in blackout material, was not visible from outside, delaying its discovery until tow yard employees noticed flies and an odor while processing a tow lien. An autopsy has been requested to determine the cause of death and the length of time the man had been deceased. Both the towing company and Walmart are cooperating with the investigation, and authorities do not suspect any wrongdoing by either party. In a separate incident, human remains were also discovered near Interstate 70 East in Washington, Pennsylvania, though authorities do not suspect foul play in that case. Investigations are ongoing in both cases to establish identities and causes of death.
