27 Arrested in Drug Trafficking Rings in Florida, New Mexico

Law enforcement agencies have dismantled two significant drug trafficking operations in the United States, leading to multiple arrests. In Florida, 17 people were arrested following a 14-month investigation called "Operation Trackside," targeting a drug trafficking organization active in Palm Beach and Broward counties. Meanwhile, in New Mexico, ten individuals, including inmates and outside accomplices, were arrested for running a drug and contraband smuggling network inside the Hidalgo County Detention Center. The New Mexico investigation began after suspicious inmate phone calls involving a kitchen worker were discovered, revealing a broader criminal operation that exploited the prison system. Multiple agencies collaborated in both cases to bring the perpetrators to justice, highlighting ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking both in communities and correctional facilities.
