Wisconsin DATCP Issues Health Alert Over Misbranded Holmen Locker Beef With Undeclared Allergens
The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) has issued a public health alert for the Cured and Smoked Teriyaki Beef product from Holmen Locker and Meat Market due to misbranding and undeclared allergens. The product contains soy and wheat, both known allergens, which were not listed on the label, and was sold on or before August 1, 2025. No illnesses or allergic reactions have been reported so far, but consumers allergic to soy or wheat are advised not to consume the product and to discard any they have. Anyone experiencing symptoms of a foodborne illness or allergic reaction is encouraged to contact their doctor. DATCP has provided contact information for consumers with questions and emphasized the importance of awareness to prevent allergic reactions. This alert aims to protect consumers by ensuring they are informed about the potential risks associated with this mislabeled beef product.
