Max Domi Fined for Elbowing, Continues Conduct Issues

Toronto Maple Leafs forward Max Domi has been fined $5,000, the maximum under the NHL's Collective Bargaining Agreement, for elbowing Philadelphia Flyers forward Garnet Hathaway during a game on January 5, 2024. The incident took place in the third period of the Maple Leafs' 3-2 overtime victory, where Domi received a minor penalty for his actions. This penalty follows a previous altercation in the game where Leafs defenseman Jake McCabe was injured in a fight with Hathaway after the latter collided with Leafs goalie Dennis Hildeby. McCabe had to leave the game with an upper-body injury. Domi's fine is the latest in a series of penalties he has received for unsportsmanlike conduct, including previous fines for slashing and elbowing. The fine will contribute to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund.
