Chargers Place Five on PUP List for Camp

The Los Angeles Chargers have placed five players, including wide receiver Mike Williams, on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list as training camp opens. Williams, who rejoined the Chargers after playing for the Jets and Steelers, is recovering from an undisclosed injury but is not expected to face a long-term absence. The other four players on the PUP list are safety Elijah Molden, linebacker Del'Shawn Phillips, wide receiver Jaylen Johnson, and offensive tackle Savion Washington. Molden was placed on the list as he recovers from a broken leg sustained in the 2024 season, despite recently signing a contract extension. The team's wide receiver group faces uncertainty, with younger players like Quentin Johnston and Tre Harris poised for larger roles. Veterans are scheduled to report to camp on July 16, with practices beginning soon after.
